DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning, bid are few and far
between, but packer inquiry should improve as the day progresses. Asking
prices are around $115 to $116 in the South and $185 plus in the North. A
light scattered trade took place yesterday with Southern live trade marked
at $114, fully steady with last week's weighted averages. Northern dressed
business was at mostly $181, roughly .50 higher than last week's weighted
average basis Nebraska. Beef cutouts are expected to be mixed with light to
moderate box movement.
